Information about the verified compliance balance |

Dear contact person,
We would like to remind you that, by 1 June 2026, all ships under your company’s responsibility must have a verified and finalised compliance balance in the THETIS-MRV system. The next steps for your fleet will depend on the status of this verified balance.
If a ship has a positive compliance balance, your verifier will issue the ship’s Document of Compliance directly, and no later than 1 June.

What to do in the case of a negative compliance balance |
|
|
|
|
If a ship has a negative verified compliance balance, your company is required to pay the FuelEU penalty. In this case, a FuelEU Penalty Document will be issued in THETIS-MRV at ship level. This document will include all relevant information and instructions for completing the payment. Once the payment has been made and processed, the NEa will issue the official Document of Compliance in THETIS-MRV.
We strongly recommend you to review your current data in THETIS-MRV and coordinate with your verifier as soon as possible, to ensure that any use of the flexibility mechanism has been completed and all compliance balances have been verified ahead of the 1 June deadline.
